Stained glass process

Procreate Design

Step 1

Cut out design on vinyl using Cricut cutting macine

Score and break glass using vinyl template

Grind the edges of the glass smooth.

Add copper foil tape to the edges of each piece of glass.

The molten-hot solder will only adhere to the copper, not the glass.

Solder

Use a soldering iron to apply zinc/lead solder to copper foil joints.

This creates a channel that secures the glass design in place.

Apply patina and polish.

Artist Bio

From a young age, art has been my sanctuary—a world where I could immerse myself for hours, losing track of time and even forgetting to eat, completely captivated by the act of creation. Gifted with a natural ability to explore new mediums, I approach each artistic endeavor with a sense of curiosity and wonder, though I acknowledge that not every attempt has been a success!

My passion for art continues to flourish, guided by a fascination with transparency and light. As a dedicated student of stained glass, I have found immense joy and tranquility in this intricate craft. Each piece I create serves not just as a reflection of my vision, but as an invitation for others to connect with their own spiritual journeys.

Through my art, I aspire to inspire, encouraging viewers to pause, reflect, and deepen their connection with our Heavenly Father.

Warmly,
Britteny Russo
